Aims of the Penkside Community Champions

 

To improve the area known as Penkside for the benefit of those who live and work in the area or who are directly connected with the area.

 

• To foster community spirit and encourage civic pride.

 

• To encourage active participation through the Penkside Community Champions volunteering opportunities.

 

• To work together irrespective of age, sex, ethnicity, ability, religion or political view.

 

• To encourage the goodwill and involvement of the wider community by supporting the developement of community groups who share the vision and objectives of this group.

 

• To work in partnership with relevant agencies for the benefit of the inhabitants by

 

(i) promoting the health and wellbeing of the residents of the area
(ii) promoting environmental improvements and conservation by educating, encouraging and assisting the local population in environmental practices.
(iii) Working with relevant groups and agencies to deal with the impact and perception of crime in the area.
(iv) Working with relevant groups and agencies to improve opportunities for employment.
